Artist Question: Can silverpoint be used on Ampersand panels and which would be most suitable?

A: Ampersand offers several surfaces for silverpoint. Claybord works well but is very smooth; we recommend a wash of China white gouache to add more tooth. Gessobord has a light texture, so it can be used directly without any preparation. Encausticbord also needs no prep and has a rougher texture, allowing for fine details and darker values. It even permits limited erasing.
