Introduction to Ampersand Primed Canvas Texture
Painting on a rigid panel support has many advantages over flexible fabric supports. On a panel, colors appear brighter, you have more brush control, and the panel holds your painting still, protecting it against damage.
But what if you like the look and feel of painting on canvas? Or what if you’re used to painting on canvas and you’ve never tried painting on a panel before? The Artist Panel Canvas Texture is the panel for you!

This panel offers the durability and advantages of a panel but with the familiar feel of canvas’s woven texture. The panel is hand-made from top-quality MDF, and the cradles are birch plywood for maximum stability and support.

The canvas-like texture is imprinted directly onto the acrylic gesso ground. This allows you to work on a rigid panel support while keeping the canvas texture and acrylic gesso coating that you’re accustomed to.
The Artist Panel Canvas Texture is ready to use, so you can skip mounting canvas or adding endless layers of gesso and just start creating. The acrylic gesso coating is perfect for painting with oils, acrylics, and mixed media too, and its texture provides optimum brush control.
