Step into the luminous world of watercolor on Aquabord™ with internationally acclaimed artist Daniela Werneck. In this five-month mentorship, you’ll gain the skills, insight, and confidence to create a highly detailed, professional-quality portrait from start to finish. With Daniela’s focus on exquisite textures, lifelike skin tones, and captivating detail, you’ll receive in-depth demonstrations, hands-on guidance, and personalized feedback to help you master this unique surface. By the end, you’ll have a stunning finished piece—and the knowledge to bring your creative vision to life again and again.
As part of your enrollment, you’ll also receive access to Daniela’s past workshop demonstrations, Introduction to Aquabord and the Watercolor on Aquabord Masterclass, giving you additional resources to strengthen your foundation and deepen your practice.
Unlike traditional watercolor paper, Aquabord™ offers remarkable liftability, layering potential, and luminous effects—ideal for realistic skin tones, intricate textures, and expressive storytelling. Through live demonstrations, structured assignments, and peer engagement, you’ll refine your technical skills and artistic voice. Three live feedback sessions provide personalized support, and the final month includes a project submission to ensure you finish with a polished, professional piece.

Join artist Pamela Caughey for a focused art retreat in beautiful Pender Island, Canada. Each day will include practical instruction in abstract painting through demonstrations, hands-on studio time, and personalized mentoring. You will build a strong foundation in design and color theory, receive one-on-one feedback, and work toward a cohesive body of abstract paintings. Pam will tailor her guidance to your needs, helping you grow more confident in your process and creative decisions. Students who wish to explore the tall and skinny format is encouraged and a supply list will be provided upon enrollment. All levels are welcome and while demos will be done in cold wax and oil, artists are welcome to work in acrylic if they choose.
We begin together on Thursday evening with a communal dinner and an opening group exercise to set the rhythm.
Then Friday through Sunday we’ll move through a curated blend of partner and solo exercises designed to awaken your senses, balanced with indulgent hours to paint, collect, and express at your own pace.
A Note on Experience: No formal artistic background is necessary. Whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or the thousandth, this retreat is about the depth and breadth of your unique voice.
